Come to the library on Halloween to trick or treat around inside the library. Show us your costumes and get some fun treats! No registration is required.
Move & Groove with Johnny Only!
Get ready to sing, dance, and have a blast with Johnny Only, “The Guy with the Light-Up Shoes!” on Friday, November 6 @ 10:30am! This interactive musical show is packed with silly songs, dancing, bubbles, and plenty of fun for little ones. Plus, kids will even get to meet a live bunny! No registration is required.
Crafty Kids Club: A Slice of Fall
Fall fun is in full swing at Crafty Kids Club! Join us on Tuesday, November 10 @ 4pm to celebrate autumn and Thanksgiving with a sweet slice of pie-inspired creativity and an acorn and clay village! Stop by anytime! You don’t have to be here at the start to join the fun. We’ll be crafting until 5:30 PM. No registration is required.
Family Event: Fall Into Science!
Join us on Saturday, November 14 from 10am-12pm for an exciting hands-on STEM event where curiosity comes to life. Families will explore the science of invisible ink, create birdhouses to help feed local birds, and discover the surprising power hidden inside everyday vegetables. Come ready to experiment, create, and have fun while exploring the wonders of science together! No registration is required.
Saturday Story Time: Music!
Let’s make music! Join us on Saturday, November 21 at 10:30am for a musical morning filled with stories, songs, and lots of hands-on fun! We’ll sing, dance, play instruments, and even make our own musical creations to take home. Perfect for children ages 3–6 and their grown-ups. No registration required.

Book Clubs for Kids & Teens
Read a book each month throughout the school year and then come to the library for discussion, activities and snacks! Meetings are from 5-6pm. Registration is required for each group and the links to register are below!

Read to the Therapy Dogs
Reading to our specially trained dogs will help boost kids’ reading skills and confidence in addition to helping with social and emotional skills. Join us from 10am-12pm on the following dates. No registration is required.

The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program is a fun, exciting, and free way to start your child on the path to success! Any child ages birth to 5 years can participate, just follow these steps:
- Register: Sign up at your local 4CLS library, or online at 4clsny14.readsquared.com
- Track your reading: Use the reading trackers to record how many books you are reading.
- Every Book Counts: Even if your child wants to hear the same book again and again, you can count it each time. You can also count the books your child hears in storytime, in daycare or preschool, or with a friend or family member, as long as your child listens to the entire book.
- 100-Book Milestone: Each time you read 100 books, bring your reading tracker to the library to receive a new sticker on your Reading Achievement Chart. Take home a new reading tracker sheet for your next 100 books.
- 1,000 Books: You did it! Come celebrate at your library and see your child’s name placed on a bookplate in the library collection.
- Keep on Reading: Don’t stop at 1,000! Keep reading together; there’s more learning ahead!
One thousand books may seem like a lot, but if you read just one book a night, you’ll meet your goal in less than 3 years. If you read three books a night, you could reach your goal in just one year! Ask our friendly staff for suggestions—we’re here to help you on your journey to 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten!
