We’ve just added the Endicott Daily Bulletin newspaper years 1947-1951 to our Digital Archives. Our local newspaper coverage now includes years 1856-1951, along with the fantastic Endicott-Johnson Workers Review magazine and other E-J and U-E publications.  It’s a portal in time – Enter the Time Machine!  

An interesting article from the NY Times comparing the ecological impact of books vs. e-readers.  Their conclusion?: Borrow a book from your library!

NPR ran a story last week on the future of libraries in the e-book age

This is the Johnson Rose. George F. had roses growing on his property (which is where the library stands now). One day he told his gardner to get rid of them. The gardner took them home and replanted them. Or so the story goes… This one was donated back to the library a few years…
