Summer Reading

There will be a special meeting of the library trustees on Wednesday, June 8 from 7 till 8:45 P.M. in the Scott (basement) Meeting Room.  The trustees will be interviewing applicants for several vacant seats.

The September 2014 meeting of GFJ’s Board of Trustees has been rescheduled.  It will now be held Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 7 PM at the library.

Just a reminder that the library will be closed on Friday, January 25th due to the replacement of our heating and air conditioning system. We plan to reopen at 9:00am on Saturday 1/26. However, please call or check the website before visiting as a delay in construction could prevent our opening on this day.

For our non-resident patrons: At its June 2014 meeting the Library Trustees decided to increase the non-resident fee from $25.00 to $50.00 annually, per household, effective January 1, 2015.  This is the first increase in the fee in the 20 or so year existence of the fee, and brings the cost into line with what…

Longtime GFJ employee Jim “Par” Panella passed away suddenly this week.  His buddy “Roxy”, a familiar face at the library,  came by for a visit today. Roxy is now living with Jim’s sister-in-law. Everyone at GFJ deeply misses them both.
