This is the Johnson Rose. George F. had roses growing on his property (which is where the library stands now). One day he told his gardner to get rid of them. The gardner took them home and replanted them. Or so the story goes… This one was donated back to the library a few years…

Despite a miserable economy, the March 15, 2010 issue of Library Journal reports that 84% of library funding referenda passed in 2009. For New York State, the figure was 100%.
